The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod is excited to announce the People’s Choice award winners for the 2016/2017 Building & Remodeling Industry of Cape Cod (BRICC) awards. The People’s Choice competition rewards builders and remodelers based on consumer online voting. The industry judging took place in September and October, and those winners were announced at the sold out BRICC banquet in November.  The public voting took place the 1st quarter of 2017 and results were recently tallied.  This is the first time that the Home Builders & Remodelers Association has conducted a People’s Choice component to their BRICC Awards program which happens every two years since 2012.

#1 Category: Garden Design, Seaview Secret Garden Osterville, MA.  – E.J. Jaxtimer Builder
A subtle water feature creates a focal point of the décor that is further elaborated by the topiary dotted herbaceous border of the parterre gardens.  The garden is designed to serve dual function as a quiet reflective retreat as well as a place for outdoor entertaining. The upper bluestone terrace allows for a larger gathering space, while the gravels area of the formal gardens allow for intimate spillover spaces.

This Gold BRICC award winning project, won 36% of the public voting.

Builder: E.J. Jaxtimer Builder; Architect:  Patrick Ahearn Architect
The home was originally built in 1870 and suffered from significant disrepair and asbestos. The project developed into a major renovation including additions to the original cottage, construction of a new carriage house and pool cabana, a putting green, and a new landscape program. The main vision of East Bay Residence was not only to re-enliven and expand the house, but to preserve the history and reveal its hidden potential.

#3 Category: New Construction, Home on the Depot.  Builder: Encore Construction; Architect:  GMT Home Designs
The owners wanted their home to feel comfortable and cozy, but all the while open to accommodate a large group gathering. Encore's plan for fulfilling that vision was an open floor plan with built ins anywhere possible. There is built in seating around the dining room table and the fire place. We also had the kitchen, dining and living room all open to one another so cooking and entertaining could happen simultaneously.

This Gold BRICC award winning project, won 59% of the public voting.

Winners of the 2016 (biennial) BRICC Awards were announced on November 10th to a capacity crowd at the Wequassett.  Awards were handed out in the categories of:  New single family home construction, Remodeling & renovations in both whole house and rooms; Interior design and outdoor living; and Specialty categories both new and renovated.
