Why Join HBRACC?

Three In One Membership: Your dues include membership in the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Cape Cod (HBRACC), the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Massachusetts (HBRAMA), and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and access to more than five hundred services. News That Affects Your Business: Staying informed is staying ahead in the building business. Prompt and reliable news on all matters that affect your business.

On the local level our Building Inspectors Committee members meet with local building inspectors on a regular basis. We are here for you to address any issues that you may have. At the state level we attend State Board of Building Regulations and Standards (BBRS) meetings to stay informed of pending changes and issues.

Membership Meetings: The HBRACC's general membership meetings provide members an opportunity to exchange in a friendly atmosphere, ideas, information … to keep in touch with fellow builders, subcontractors and suppliers. Programs are planned to provide something of value to all members, regardless of their special interests. Network with companies that share your interests at dinner meetings, our annual golf tournament and annual bowling event.

Educational Seminars: Seminars and workshops on a variety of subjects are held throughout the year. Expert speakers and panels are assembled to train, educate and motivate members.  Professional designation programs like the Certified Graduate Remodeler, Certified Graduate Builder, and Graduate Master Builder.and Invitations to attend the International Builders Show with 200 plus educational seminars.

Governmental Affairs:  Be a voice for your industry! The HBRACC, the HBRA of Massachusetts (HBRAMA) and NAHB provide a powerful advocate for your interests at all levels of government. The HBA plays an active role in gaining positive results on issues facing the home-building industry. Be it zoning, building codes or subdivision regulations, the Association is alert to seize opportunities to obtain more favorable laws and regulations; to vigorously oppose harmful legislation.

Free Legal Research: When you have a legal problem or question pertaining to building or development, simply call 1-800-368-5242, ext. 491 and speak to a member of the legal research team. NAHB’s attorneys will research your legal issue using state-of-the-art resources, including a computerized legal database and access to nationally recognized legal research libraries. They will then provide you with a written summary of any related federal or state laws, citations to legal case precedents from courts throughout the country, as well as a wealth of other background information.

NAHB tailors the summary to your needs —– whether you’re in a big city or a small town —– and provides it in a clear and understandable way. You can then take the written response to your local counsel who will explain how it applies in that particular case.

NAHB also has a library of informative articles on issues of common interest to NAHB members that are available for the asking. If you’re an NAHB member or a member’s attorney, just call NAHB with your needs. Even if you don’t have a specific problem, but would like to learn more about issues that affect the building industry as a whole, NAHB Legal Research can be of assistance.

Insurance: With your paid membership, you're eligible for Group Health Insurance available through Health Services Administrators (HSA) of Braintree, MA the administers of our group health insurance benefits.  You'll need to call the HB&RACC office first, to get the information you'll need when signing up or inquiring with HSA.

Health Services Administrators deal with small business subscribers and serve over 20,000 employers with over 35,000 subscribers throughout the region. They provide the marketing, rating, enrollment, billing and collection services for the plans offered.

HSA has two dedicated customer service representatives who handle our plans, which includes enrollment. It is necessary to speak directly with one of these two customer service representatives to avoid being charged an enrollment fee and to insure that you are included in our plan, which does not charge you a fee….you are a member of HBRACC & HBRAMA and this is a member benefit.   Remember, you'll need to call the HBRACC office first, to get the information you'll need when signing up or inquiring with HSA.

Publications: Free subscriptions (for Builder Members) to the Nation's Building News and Builder Magazine. Access to other magazines and newsletters that are industry specific such as Remodeler and Design Lines, many of which are free to members. The Home Builder Bookstore offers a 20% discount to members on all books, brochures, video tapes, and audiocassettes.

NAHB Research Center: The NAHB Research Center is the research and development leader in the home building industry, dedicated to advancing housing technology and enhancing affordability for the benefit of all Americans. Federal, state, and local government agencies, manufacturers, builders, and remodelers rely on the expertise and objectivity that are at the very heart of the Research Center.

Types of Membership

BUILDER & REMODELER:  Annual dues - $550
Builder & Remodeler members are directly involved in building and remodeling homes.
They include small-volume builders, custom builders, production builders, light commercial builders, and remodelers.

ASSOCIATE:  Annual dues - $550
Associate members provide products or services to home builders.
They are the electricians, plumbers, lumber yards, product suppliers, framers, carpenters, bankers, insurance agents, realtors, masons, landscapers, architects and designers.
If “it” goes on top, in or around a home, our associate members provide “it.”

AFFILIATE:  Annual dues - $35
Any active member can sponsor an employee to become a full member at a much lower cost.
This helps the association build for the future, engage and encourage future leaders, and grow membership.

STUDENT:  Annual dues - $5
The HBRACC/NAHB Student Chapters program is dedicated to enriching the educational experience of students by offering them first-hand exposure to the real world of residential construction.

Working with a faculty adviser and drawing on the mentors and industry leaders in their local home builders association, student chapters can compete in national competitions, win scholarships, enjoy discounts on trade shows, and enjoy all the benefits of membership.
