Membership & Benefits Committee

This committee supports the growth and retention of HBRACC’s membership by helping welcome new members, strengthening engagement, and improving member benefits.

The committee reviews new and renewal membership applications and provides recommendations to the Board of Directors based on membership trends, retention rates, and member feedback. The Committee Chair is appointed by the President. This committee serves in an advisory role and does not have governing authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome members at monthly dinner meetings

  • Serve as new member ambassadors and make introductions

  • Promote and attend new member orientations

  • Help maintain the member database (including reviewing expired memberships)

  • Support member retention and engagement efforts

  • Gather feedback to improve member satisfaction and benefits

 


Education Committee

The Education Committee develops and promotes educational programs that support professional growth within the building and remodeling industry.

This committee oversees continuing education courses, seminars, presentations, and NAHB designation programs. It also works closely with local schools, training programs, and government and community organizations in Barnstable and Dukes Counties to expand learning opportunities.

In addition, the committee helps establish and support NAHB Student Chapters to strengthen connections between students and the Association.

The Education Committee collaborates with the Marketing & Communications Committee to share educational information with members, the public, and local officials. The Committee Chair is appointed by the President. This committee serves in an advisory role and does not have governing authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and promote educational courses, seminars, and CEU programs

  • Support NAHB designation and professional development programs

  • Partner with schools, training programs, and community organizations

  • Help develop and support NAHB Student Chapters

  • Share educational resources with members and the public

  • Coordinate outreach with the Marketing & Communications Committee

 


Building Code & Standards Committee

The Building Code & Standards Committee helps members stay informed about building regulations, safety requirements, and industry best practices. Its goal is to support compliance, streamline the permitting process, and strengthen public confidence in HBRACC members’ professionalism and workmanship.

This committee works to keep members up to date on evolving local and state building codes and provides opportunities for open dialogue with building officials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide education on current building codes, safety standards, and regulatory changes

  • Share best practices to support compliant, high-quality construction

  • Facilitate discussions with local building inspectors and officials

  • Address common permitting and compliance challenges

  • Help reduce liability risks and improve project efficiency

 


Government Affairs Committee

The Government Affairs Committee monitors legislative and regulatory issues that impact the building and remodeling industry and helps represent the Association’s interests at the local and state levels.

This committee reviews political issues and candidates and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors. It also oversees the Association’s Industry Action Fund and determines how funds are raised and used in support of advocacy efforts. The Committee Chair is appointed by the President. This committee serves in an advisory role and does not have governing authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend HBRAMA meetings and represent HBRACC interests

  • Track and share updates on state and local legislative agendas

  • Inform members about important town meetings and policy issues

  • Identify ways members can support advocacy efforts locally

  • Promote opportunities to serve on local boards and committees

 


Finance Committee

The Finance Committee supports the financial health and stability of the Association by reviewing financial reports and assisting with budgeting and planning.

This committee works closely with the Board of Directors to monitor monthly financial performance and provide input on the annual budget. The committee offers guidance and recommendations to support responsible financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review monthly financial statements

  • Support the Board of Directors with financial oversight

  • Assist in developing and reviewing the annual budget

  • Provide input on financial planning and sustainability

 


Events Committee

The Events Committee plans and supports HBRACC programs and activities that bring members together while promoting strong attendance and positive financial outcomes.

This committee works collaboratively to design engaging events and provides hands-on support with planning, promotion, and execution. The committee also assists with fundraising efforts and securing donations for raffles, drawings, and special activities. This committee serves in an advisory role and does not have governing authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help plan and organize Association events

  • Set attendance and financial goals for programs and activities

  • Support event setup, registration, and on-site coordination

  • Assist with fundraising and donation solicitation

  • Help promote events to encourage strong participation

 


Marketing & Communications Committee

The Marketing & Communications Committee manages HBRACC’s messaging and public presence to ensure clear, consistent, and engaging communication with members and the broader community.

This committee supports branding, outreach, and promotional efforts across multiple platforms and works to increase awareness of the Association’s programs, events, and member benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update website content

  • Manage and support social media outreach

  • Develop media kits and promotional materials for members

  • Promote upcoming events and programs

  • Support public relations and community awareness initiatives
