9th Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament Nets Nearly $500,000 for Local Charities

The 9th Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament made a big splash this year, raising $490,000 for 22 local non-profits, with every dollar going directly to support participating charities. Since its launch in 2017, the tournament has raised more than $2.7 million for the Cape Cod community.
The tournament, held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, brought together over 150 anglers across 30 boats for a day of fishing, friendly competition, and fundraising. The event concluded at Baxter’s Fish ‘N Chips in Hyannis, where an award ceremony and live auction added an additional $41,850 for charities including Alzheimer’s Family Support Center of Cape Cod, Big Nick’s Ride for the Fallen, Cape Kid Meals, and The Family Pantry of Cape Cod, among others.

Participating charities spanned a wide range of missions, from Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod to YMCA Cape Cod, Cape Abilities, and Special Olympics Massachusetts, all supported by generous sponsors such as Jaxtimer Landscaping, Barnstable Police Department, Pella Windows & Doors, and many more.
The 9th Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament proved once again that a love of fishing and community spirit can make a tangible impact for those in need across Cape Cod.
